After the ravages of the phylloxera epidemic at the end of the 19th century the Latour family took the then, unusual decision to tear up the dead Aligoté and Pinot Noir vines, and replace them with Chardonnay. This decision lead them to create one of Burgundy's most celebrated white whites.

2010 Vineyard 29 Sauvignon Blanc

The 2010 29 Estate Blanc opens with exquisite aromas of crisp white stone fruits and flintiness. Gentle swirling brings out bright citrus notes and hints of passion fruit. The wine enters the palate with white nectarine, wet stone and lemon oil, a signature of this estate blanc.

2014 Montrose at Montauk In Redondo Beach

2014 Chateau Montrose, Saint-Estephe

Château Montrose is a winery in the Saint-Estèphe appellation of the Bordeaux region of France. The wine produced here was classified as one of fourteen Deuxièmes Crus in the original Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855. Since 2006, Olivier and Martin Bouygues own this winery. Multiple vintages exist.

The vines of Château Smith Haut Lafitte are planted in a single block on a Günz gravel plateau in the Pessac-Léognan appellation, producing six different wines. Château Smith Haut Lafitte, a Graves Great Growth in both red and white. Each has its own unique blend and distinctive aromatic profile.

2005 Chateau Pontet-Canet, Pauillac

A classic expression of this Château that's still in its adolescent phase, the 2005 Château Pontet-Canet has a youthful ruby/plum hue to go with incredibly pure aromatics of cassis, graphite, crushed stone like minerality, and subtle cedar pencil notes. While it clearly offers pleasure, especially if you don't mind some tannins, it deserves another 3-5 years of bottle age, and it should have a two decade or so prime drinking plateau.
