Detroit-born multi-instrumentalist Tristan Cappel is one of Los Angeles' most compelling rising voices in modern jazz. A saxophonist, flutist, clarinetist, composer, and producer, Cappel brings a deeply expressive and cinematic approach to performance—blending jazz tradition with contemporary soul, improvisation, and expansive musical storytelling.
His upcoming album North Star reflects a transformative and deeply personal chapter in his life, featuring collaborations with acclaimed artists including Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Telemakus, and Andrew Renfroe. As both a bandleader and collaborator, Cappel has become a sought-after presence on major stages and recordings alike.
